Chichen-itza-geometry Column Spacing It is obvious that the area known as One Thousand Columns at Chichen-Itza is very orderly and the spacing is definitely some specific value.   If the units of measure by the builders were based on alligator tails or hog’s hooves, then it is not likely some common number in our units of feet, inches and meters should happen.   A precise survey of the area has not been found to my knowledge.   But Google Earth is available on historical scans taken fairly directly overhead. For short distances, Google Earth is hard to maintain “repeatable precision”.   In measuring the spacing on the columns in the area of One Thousand Columns, one is not certain whether the dark spot is the column or the shadow.
